2.8

Today in class, we start back reading the book “ wild”. It really wasn’t as much. We had to write down 7 quotes from a chapter that relates to the title of that specific chapter. The students continued to do the work until the end of class, but it was cut short rather. Instead of sharing out, there was a tornado drill (not a real one). That mostly took most of the time. When everything was done with in the hallway, it was 10 minutes til it was time for us to leave..

Today in class, we took a test on the rhetorical devices. As I was taking the test, I noticed that the same rhetorical device was being repeated. Other than that, it was very easy. Then we learned a new device called Eponym. Using the device was very easy… we most likely talked about it until three o clock….

Today in class, I was very upset. The teacher had given us tips on an essay regarding rhetorical analysis. During that time, I was zoning out. Even though I was in a bad mood, I still understood the work. Until then, it was time to go home. I feel that I will be prepared for tomorrow. As long I remember everything that Mr. Rease have taught us, everything should be just fine.

Rhetorical appeals

Today, we learned about the 3 rhetorical appeals ( logos, ethos, and pathos). Mr Rease proposed to the class the option of having a free day on Friday . This is how I use the 3 appeals:  Ethos- I am a student who plays a sport and all of my classes are accelerated. This shows that I have a heavy schedule. Pathos- 4 days of straight work is a lot for a student with a schedule like mine. And a lot of others have schedules just as full or even more full then mine. The whole thing is mentally draining for me and stress me out. Sometimes you just can’t handle that one more day and reach your breaking point Logos- For the record, there are students like me who have very complex schedules. Complex schedules meaning more stress and difficulty dealing with other classes.
