 Today was okay I guess. The teacher wasn’t here, we had to go to a different classroom, and the assignment was just out of the question. I kind of understand the assignment but at the same time I didn’t. There was different kinds of quotes we had to break down and understand it. To be honest, it was only a few I understand. Other than that, I guess I felt better about it..

 Today we did a bell ringer. It was a interesting subject. Also, the class read and discussed two poems. Both were complex but understandable towards the end. 

Today was somewhat okay. Except for the fact I was very tired. In class, we did a bell ringer. It was very interesting in my opinion. Also, we had to analyze a poem. The poem was very dark but good at the same time. It’s talks about mental illness in a way..

 Based on the evidence from the video, I think it's possible that there is life outside of earth. My reaction to seeing the image of earth from mars is surprising because earth is so small compared to the view from mars. It was as if earth was a star. After hearing what the blackhole sounded like, the sound was a little bit disturbing. At first, I really thought space didn't have sound, but after hearing what the blackhole sounds like, I believe there is more to space than we know. After knowing all this information, i've always known there is more to the universe than I thought. 

 In the class we had to turn in our origin myth story. It was very simple because you can create your story and write what you want. The class also did a poem called “We Real Cool”. The poem was very interesting because it talks about teenagers in general. 

 Today In class, we did notes about arguments. The lesson was very simple and understandable. We also, reviewed a speech to analyze it. The speech was very deep because it was based off the events such as the George Floyd movement that occurred in 2020. We then had to write our own origin myth story. Me personally, I thought writing a story will be too much , but as I do the assignment, I realized how easy it was. 

 Today, we learned about the 3 rhetorical appeals ( logos, ethos, and pathos). Mr Rease proposed to the class the option of having a free day on Friday . This is how I use the 3 appeals:  Ethos- I am a student who plays a sport and all of my classes are accelerated. This shows that I have a heavy schedule. Pathos- 4 days of straight work is a lot for a student with a schedule like mine. And a lot of others have schedules just as full or even more full then mine. The whole thing is mentally draining for me and stress me out. Sometimes you just can’t handle that one more day and reach your breaking point Logos- For the record, there are students like me who have very complex schedules. Complex schedules meaning more stress and difficulty dealing with other classes. 

 Today in class, we did a bell ringer. It was very simple. The video was based on social life. It was very interesting because it really relates to people in the real world. Also, we did notes based on Native American literature. Then, read a story based upon that. I find native american literature really interesting becuase I know it'll be more discussing based on it.  

 Today, the class had to present their unpopular opinions. Mines were," If you are willing to wait more than two hours on a waitlist for a table in a restaurant, you are an idiot." At first, I was way too confused becaue I didnt know what to say, but I finally thought of something and kept it at that. I said that when you wait and hours for a table, its a waste of time. From my personal expierence, I would have to wait for almost an hour to just get seated. Instead of me wasting my time being on a waitlist, I couldve just went somewhere else. 

 Today was somewhat a good day. Even though it was boring, I still learned something today. There was a video that the whole entire class has to watch for the bellringer. The video really had good morals applied to it. One moral that really stood out to me was " looks can be deceiving".  when the man was in the elevator, he noticed that the other people around him were bigger than him and took out his phone to calculate Everybody's weight around him. I feel like the man pretended that the elevator was falling because of the fact that the other people were " big" or obese". when the man left the elevator, he went on another one with skinny people. At the end of the video, the skinny people that were aboard the elevator had swine flu. I really liked this moral because it relates more to the video. Also, I learned about arguments and the main components when it comes to writing arguments. This is most likely helpful because when you do argumentative writing pr

 My purpose in life is to become the person that I aim to be. I have many goals that I want to achieve and many things that I would like to do.  For example, when I graduate high school, I want to go to college and pursue my dream career. I want to become very successful and not worry about other problems. When I have this mindset, I know what to target as of right now to help me achieve my purpose. 

 Today I learned how to comprehend a complex Text. For example, there was a poem called  “ The Negro Speaks Of Rivers” by Langston Hughes. At first, It was confusing because I really didn’t know what the poem was mainly about, but as I went back and read again, I understand it. The poem was very detailed and had a deep meaning applied. I really liked the poem because it represents the history of African Americans and what they’ve gone through for many years. 

Today I learned about formal and informal language. It has been a while since I learned about this topic but I'm starting to remember more about it. it's very helpful and can be very reliable. I feel that it's very beneficial for future references. For example, when I go into my dream career, I know that I can't speak to patients with inappropriate language and speak in any type of way that is not formal. instead, I always have to speak in a professional manner and be direct. Overall, I understand the topic more and will definitely use this more often.
